Countermarch is a computerised network tailored as a resettlement tool and is complementary to the Royal Marines Association. The RMA continues its valuable function of keeping us all in touch with the Corps and old comrades. The benefits of such networks are considerable to anyone seeking civilian employment or other support.
Royal Marines seeking civilian employment value the contacts and sound advice available through Countermarch. It tries to match their potential career paths with former RMs working in the same employment sector. The opportunity to contact a former RM who can be their guide and mentor during this sometimes difficult transition period, should not be underestimated.
The Corps Resettlement Officer writes to all former RMs about one year
after they have left inviting them to register on the Network. To help keep
Countermarch at the cutting edge, we would like to tap into the wealth of
experience and knowledge of RMA members still working, and use this information
to support Royal Marines in the process of leaving.
I would urge every RMA member currently in employment to register with Countermarch as a 'Sea Daddy'! Registration is available online at www.royalmarinesregimental.co.uk (Retired ð Countermarch ð Register ð Submit). Please remember to re-register using the same procedure if you move house or change your email address. The Countermarch database is only as good the information given to us, so please help us to keep it accurate for the sake of those now in the Resettlement process. In the meantime, if I can be of assistance then please feel free to telephone or email me, the Corps Resettlement Information Officer, David Gardner on 01392 414118 or ctcrm-rmrio@a.dii.mod.uk
